Former Law & Order star, Elisabeth Röhm, talks to Mom•Logic about her upcoming role as mother.
Mom•Logic: When is your daughter due?
Elisabeth Röhm:
My daughter is due on April 28th, which is my birthday. I would love to
share our birthday. I think part of the decision to have a child is you
decide to want to love a child well and bring another wonderful person
into the world. You've kind of gotten tired of yourself and you want to
root for someone else.
ER: I am having a girl and I wanted to find out not because of consumerism, but about having a relationship with "her" while carrying her. It's such a long time in your stomach, and it's nice to know it's a 'she'-- it makes the relationship between us more concrete.
ML: Do you have a name picked out?
ER: My fiance, Ron, and I decided on naming her Easton. I had a really long dream where my daughter and I were talking and she told me her name was "Easton." At the time, we were going to name her Grace, so we decided we liked the name she told me and now, she's Easton.
ML: What is one thing that has surprised you about being pregnant?
ER: I don't sleep because I go to the bathroom every hour. I learned that
not sleeping prior to the baby's arrival is a good thing because on
some level, it prepares you to be a mom.
ML: Have you gotten any baby gift you're excited to use?
ER: My best friend, Lash, got me the Chariot Carrier Stroller. I am an
athletic girl, and I am really looking forward to using it. It has
multiple terrain wheels, and I look forward to hiking and doing outdoor
activities with her.
