Lingerie vs. Momgerie

Victoria's Secret is losing customers because brand is "too sexy."

lingerievsmomgerie.jpg

According to the Wall Street Journal, top brass at Victoria's Secret are worried their brand has gotten "too sexy" for consumers. While many Moms turn to the retailer for their unmentionables, it looks like their lingerie is no longer flying off the racks.

Much to our husbands' chagrin we're sure, most of our sexy teddies haven't seen the light of day since the 20th century. We're choosing instead to slip into Momgerie. Translation: cozy sweats, flannel pajamas and comfy slippers.

Which do you prefer: Lingerie or Momgerie?

Of course Momgeri! what mom wouldnt want to relax after chasing after the kids all day. And just be comfortable. Not only have they got too sexy they also got a little pricey as well

I’m uncomfortable just walking past the window displays of that store. I feel like I’m passing a strip club or the Red Light District. It used to be a respectable place to get quality lingerie but it’s too raunchy anymore. They passed the line from sexy to slutty and with it lost my respect and my business. The prospect of a change in their marketing is great news to me!

The reason they aren’t selling isn’t because moms don’t like sexy lingerie, it is because most mom’s aren’t a size 2 & they don’t cater for ‘real’ size women. I have my own lingerie line and cater for plus sizes to 6x and do quite well selling to normal moms…….they have missed their mark with marketing to moms with dollars to spend, because most children who are size 1 & 2 don’t have pocket money to spend on lingerie.

Maybe if I had abs like that model, and breasts, and a butt, and thighs…

Heck, maybe if I had a brand new body that didn’t show the wear and tear of two kids I’d think about the sexy stuff. Instead hand my the flannel pants and a comfy tanktop please.

I love Victoria’s Secret lingerie - it’s cute, but way too expensive in my opinion. It’s simply not practical for me to spend hundreds of dollars on lingerie that I never have the energy to show off to my husband!

Victorias Secret has gone down hill as far as quality. I used to spend a pretty penny in there. Now, it’s mostly marketed toward 17 year olds and up. They can keep it!!!!!!!! Go to Dillards where you can find classy, sexy, and very high quality stuff

I beleive that getting a little number from Victoria Secret, once in a blue moon, cannot hurt!It is always good to keep some spark in the bedroom ,since is very easy to fall into monotony when you have children! We cannot completely neglect and forget about the daddies’ needs !:D

Like other moms i think their items are too pricy. I find similar items for less at other stores. Also, you see their models everywhere in the store and remember “oh yeah, it’s not gonna look like that on me”, and with the way things are today with all the cosmetic surgery and “perfectly plastic models” it makes you feel worse about your body image. Their advertisements don’t make me want to go to their store, and i think their commercials interest men more than women.

I think there’s a time for sexy of course but why dosent any one make sexy for real looking women we want to feel good about our selfs not worse

If I had the body of the models wearing the lingerie I would wear it too. But until then…I’ll stick to the “momgerie”

I think that vickys does cost alot of money but as for it being to sexy its not a big deal, the lingerie is meant to be sexy, hello!!If i did have a body like the models i would wear all those nice things.I wouldnt wear vickys but i wouldnt wear momgerie because you can look sexy and feel comforty.Theres lingerie that covers what you want tocover and still be sexy.

At 26 and 3 kids later my body is something out of a horror movie. I’d rather where a snow suit than some skimpy little nighty.

LINGERIE! If I’m wearing ANYTHING at night, it’s got to be lingerie…and soon it’s off anyway!! When I was first with my hubby, he made it VERY clear that he didn’t care for the boxers and t-shirt look or what you call “momgerie.” 2 kids later, I’m not perfect, but if I go and invest once in a while in something that FITS RIGHT (which Vicky’s and Fredericks are VERY good at) then I feel hot, too!

Oh, and I was told the secret by a lady that worked at Fredericks. The models? If they’re wearing those teddy’s or something else without built in support? Then they’re also wearing a push up bra under it that has been AIRBRUSHED OUT!!! The lady actually showed me their order form for the picture advertisements and they were the ones before the airbrushing - you could see the whole bra under there!!

So, if you were airbrushed or photoshopped, you’d look like that too - and since you’re NOT, love what you’re in and show it off in a sexy way! Make him SALIVATE!
