Prosecutors refuse to drop charges against Britney Spears: Despite pleas from her attorneys that she's a changed woman, Spears is still facing charges for driving without a license. Los Angeles city attorney Michael Amerian says he's already dropped a hit-and-run count after Spears hit a parked car with her white Mercedes and says, "It's the fairest way to treat her. We're not affected by her celebrity status."
Obama picks up key endorsement: Governor Bill Richardson is set to endorse his former rival Barack Obama today, calling him a "once-in-a- lifetime leader." Richardson's support is significant, considering his influence in the Hispanic community and his long-term friendship with the Clintons.
Stingray kills woman in freak accident: A woman vacationing in Florida with her family was killed yesterday when a 75-pound spotted eagle ray jumped out of the water and hit her in the face while she was riding in a boat. The woman and stingray both died on impact and no puncture wound from the ray's barb was found.
Mom arrested for leaving sleeping child in car files suit: Treffly Coyne,
who was arrested after leaving her sleeping 2-year-old in her car as she took her other children to drop coins in a Salvation Army kettle, is suing the village of Crestwood and three police officers. Charges against the Chicago mom were dropped in court last week, and now Coyne has filed a lawsuit claiming false arrest and malicious prosecution.
