Moms Are Talking About...

Jamie Lynn is seeing blue: Britney took her little sister shopping at the trendy Petit Tresor store in California, and it looks like Jamie Lynn is expecting a baby boy. Britney said they were shopping for her two sons, but spies say the shopping cart was filled with must-haves for a new baby.
Air travel with kids may get easier: Denver and Salt Lake City are the first airports to try "family" check-point lanes in order to ease the pressure on parents struggling through security with young children. The TSA says the screening is the same, and they hope the concept will speed up security lines. Parents are hoping it'll cut down on whining.
Melatonin=good nights' sleep: Parents who are having a hard time getting their kids to sleep at night are giving their kids a melatonin fix. The natural supplement helps kids fall asleep and wake up refreshed in the mornings. Does it have the same effect on Moms?
Mick Jagger escapes alleged assassination plot: According to a BBC documentary, the Rolling Stones singer was targeted by Hells Angels gang members after a dispute over concert security. The gang was allegedly en route by boat to kill the rock star in his Long Island home, but the boat was hit by a storm and the men were thrown overboard.

I am so glad I live in SLC! I travel with my now 2 year old son every 2-3 months (I’m from Ohio), and security is such a pain! I always feel bad for holding people up while tryig to hold my son, fold the stroller, get it, and the carseat onto the conveyor, get our shoes and coats off, get them in the bin, take out all the milk/baby food and then do it all again in reverse! Now if only Southwest would go back to their policy of letting families board first so I wouldn’t have to feel guilty about whacking people in the head with my carryon, as I try to haul my son, his carseat and our bag over top 25 people.
I honestly don’t think the ‘family’ lanes will fly, because there’s so much ignorance. Start with the TSA!
Recently we flew with my then-eight-week-old daughter and were extremely annoyed by the way we were treated going through security. They had us take off her top because it looked like a jacket (big production) and they wouldn’t let me take the baby from my husband’s arms when he had to remove his belt because I was already on the ‘approved’ side. On top of that, the screeners were VERY interested in my breast pump, as though they’d never seen one before. It was disgusting.
Then, as we were flying Southwest as well, everyone we encountered was appalled we weren’t allowed to board first. We just had a diaper bag and one other carryon, so it’s not like we were fighting for extra bin space for all the baby paraphernalia. If everyone who commented wrote a letter, we might see some change. Hah.

I don’t want to come off as being hyper-critical and snarky, but which moms are talking about this? And where? Hells Angels? Are they even relevant anymore? And I know every news outlet is going to follow Jamie-lynn Spears until her eventual nervous breakdown occurs, but does Momlogic need to? So many questions…sigh.
