Choosing a baby's middle name can be as tricky as the first.
We're sure when Barack Obama's Mom chose "Hussein" for his middle name, she wasn't thinking that decision would make international news. Jennifer Moss, CEO of Babynames.com gives us her top five tips for picking the best middle-name for your child.
1. Don't try to be funny: Names such as "Pilot Inspektor
Lee," "Crystal Chanda Leer" or "Elvis Presley Smith" may be humorous to
you, but won't be to your child if the teacher announces their full
name in class.
2. Shame alert: Make sure that your baby's initials don't
spell something embarrassing. Also, beware of middle names for boys
that sound feminine, like "Francis."
3. No copycats: Children can share rooms, not names. Don't use the same middle name as another sibling.
4. Tongue trouble: Avoid tongue twisters with the first and middle names, like "Aurora Rory."
5. Genealogy 101: If your son has a different middle name than his father, he is not a junior.
