Birthday Parties: Fun For Them, Easy For You

filed under: hidden posts

Throwing a b-day party for your kid can sometimes be uhhh..not so fun. Party expert Jeanne Benedict says you can keep it fun and easy (and won't even need a drink).

1. So many invitations, so little time: Forget sending out handwritten cards, send an Evite! It's quick, eco friendly, and you can do it in minutes.

2. The Inflatable Playground: Kids love the bouncy houses: Try them in the combo "slide and climb" models in themes like a firetruck or pirate ship. Since they don't have a height limit, parents can jump on in!

3. Treasure Hunt: Super simple to plan and always a big hit, especially when all the kids get gifts. Organize it at the end of the party to forego having to put together dreaded goodie bags.

4. Crafts Table: Keeps kids busy by loading up the table with paper, crayons and stickers. Jeanne loves "chalk cloth", a fabric you can write on then erase with a damp sponge. Later, use the fabric as a picnic blanket that the kids will feel proud of.

5. Cupcakes: "Pull Apart" cupcakes are awesome. Cluster the cupcakes together and cover the icing over the top of all of the cupcakes, as opposed to individuals. It will look like a cake with a traditional birthday message but the kids will have fun pulling out their own cupcakes.
