Your kids may not be listening to you, but we definitely are! Here are some of our favorite comments about this week's top stories on Mom•Logic:
"I think it's great that pop culture has an image of a 50 year old woman who is still sexy and talks about having great sex! That's incredibly positive, pop culture has become so ageist and so pointed at girls who are (sometimes literally, thanks, Britney) in school uniforms. Why can't a 50 year old mum enjoy sex?! She's not 70, she's 50! How depressing, if that's people's attitude, that you can't enjoy sex at 50!" - Aaron on Madonna Loves Sex...So Should You?
"I think that people need to get over the notion that "romance" has anything to do with a good marriage! A good marriage is PLANNING, WORK AND COMMUNICATION! Some of the most romantic relationships I have ever seen ended in divorce. Romance does not make or break a marriage - if the marriage is strong, the romance will come with it but romance won't keep a marriage strong all on it's own." - Crystal on Can a Threesome Save Your Marriage?
"My stepson is a high functioning autistic. At six, he is displaying a lack of appropriate social cues, minor babbling, and walks on his tip toes. Aside from this, he is a normal, happy boy. We have taken steps to draw him into our world so he doesn't retreat into his so much (I've been in his life since age three) and the progress has been amazing. Mothers....your children are wonderful and valued members of society. Autism doesn't mean your child is wrong, it just means their brains work differently. Have patience, and know that your love and support can make all the difference. I recommend "Autism: The Musical" for anyone curious about the needs and abilities of autistic children. Love them, though...no matter what you do." - Lis on Autism Signs Moms Should Know.
