Let’s see… after 22 hours of labor, pushing for 2 1/2 hours and then having a c-section in which they had to “go from beneath” to push my son back up into my uterus so they could get him out, I would say there was nothing remotely orgasmic about the experience. In fact, the 18 months afterword of horrible pain from scar tissue followed by a laporoscopy would certainly confirm that fact. Kind of crazy that it would be considered orgasmic to be ripped, torn or cut… but that’s just my opinion.
Try pushing a pot roast out your nostril and see if that gets you all tingly. I had 2 c-sections but not for lack of trying with the first for 24 hours. I don’t see how it’s humanly possible when you are wreathing in pain to have an unexpected moment of bliss in this manner.
OK, so it wasn’t orgasmic for you. However for some women it is. If you read the post I was discussing a movie that follows several women as they give birth and do experience orgasms, or at least pleasurable, births. Just because it doesn’t happen to you does not mean it doesn’t happen to anyone.
Not everyone is writhing in pain, or has c-sections, or even spends labor laying on their back in a hospital bed. I had a beautiful birth where I stayed home until the very last minute, and the only pain I experienced was in the car ride to my midwife. Once there I relaxed and the pain subsided again. Walking, resting, eating, drinking, relaxing, not being checked, poked, prodded, tested, and bothered played a huge role in that.
This is a good subject to talk about. Sometimes I fav stuff like this on Redit. This article probably won’t do well with that crowd. I will be sure to submit something else though.

OK, having just given birth for the second time (without any pain meds) I can say with utter certainty that there was nothing orgasmic about it! Sweet relief when it’s over, yes! But orgasm? Not in my book…
