Finally! Brooke Burke Names That Baby

Tuesday, April 1, 2008

After four weeks of baby naming showdowns, her son's got a name.

We know that naming a baby can be a challenge, but four weeks post-partum? Brooke and her fiance named their little man "Shaya," which is Hebrew for "gift" or meaning "group of followers" in Arabic, says Jennifer Moss, CEO of Baby Names.com

Jennifer's take on the celebubabe's name: "Shaya is a form of Shia, like Shia LeBoeuf," said Jennifer. "Because of the "A" ending, it may be perceived more as a feminine name. If we had been asked to consult, we probably would have recommended they use Shay or Shane. However, they may have avoided that since "Shay Charvet" rhymes."

I think exotic names are great…but I dunno about celebs giving their kids RIDICULOUS names like “Pilot Inspektor.” Names should reflect meaning, character and your child’s personality—not be the butt of joke and the reason for future therapy.

My wife and I came up with 3 names for my son; Kai, Jayden, and Beckett. We let the nurses pick which was best and it ended up being the one we both liked the most.
