Living in the Jolie-Pitt Fishbowl

Celebrity has it's perks but can you imagine having your parenting skills scrutinized by the entire world?

MSNBC recently ran the piece "Jolie-Pitt Kids Scarfing Down Junk Food." Apparently, the Jolie-Pitt clan has been spotted eating food any sanity-seeking Mom would exchange for a couple of whine-free moments. We're so lucky we're not famous. No one's watching us. If, in a tired mom-stupor, we watch our kids devour a half-eaten cookie off the ground (that has far exceeded the 10 second rule) cameras will not be flashing. Sure, maybe we'll get the stink-eye from that judgmental b*tch in our playgroup, but otherwise we get off scott-free. Sorry, Angelina.
What minor infractions have you committed as a parent that made you so glad the paps weren't capturing?
I had to let go of being anal about my kids cleanliness. I just had to accept that a 5 yr. old can’t always stay pristine in her Sunday dress no matter how hard I try :)….and it’s OK.
The two things that immediately come to mind are how our 6 year old will shove his finger up his nose no matter who is watching, as well as how our 9 year old doesn’t seem to mind people being in the vicinity when he needs to “let one fly” so to speak.
Let’s see…we’ve let my daughter go to the store in her princess PJ’s…given her a paci that fell onto a pretty dirty floor (more than once)…hit her in the face with a soft bouncy ball a couple of times…should I keep going?
As long as they’re not eating that everyday, what’s the harm??
I remember when my first was born, everything he picked up I tried taking away. Changing out the binky every time it fell on the floor. Psshhh, eventually I got tired of trying to find a clean one, - just brush or blow it off and your good to go!
I am constantly searching online for articles that can assist me. Thanks!

Running with my 6 month old from the day care to the car when it’s 40 degrees out. He was way too fussy to put his sweater on so I ran from the front door of the day care to the car which was running and warm! Eh, a little cold air just wakes them up!
