Polygamist children remain in custody: A Texas judge ruled that the 416 children taken from the polygamist sect will remain in state custody to further investigate abuse allegations. The state was also given the authority to conduct DNA tests on the children, to help identify family relationships.

Pope calls to clean up clergy: Pope Benedict XVI continued his mission to heal wounds left from the sex abuse scandal and said it is "more important to have good priests and than many priests". The pope will give the first papal mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral today and tomorrow pay his respects at Ground Zero, followed by a mass at Yankee Stadium.
