Marines want you?: Due to an unpopular war and a decline in enrollment, the United State Marine Corps. has launched an advertising campaign targeting women. Ads appear in fitness magazines like Self and Shape and show a softer, more patriotic tone designed to recruit women.

Tom Cruise's son plays Will Smith: Cruise's 13-year-old son with ex-wife Nicole Kidman will debut on the big screen in the new Will Smith drama, Seven Pounds. Connor had to audition for the role and will play a young Smith in the film.

Wedding rings found in Disney trash: A husband accidentally threw out his wife's engagement, wedding and 5-year-anniversary rings while they were vacationing with their two young children in Disney World. (doh!) Hotel employees volunteered to search through trash bags and managed to find the rings. A marriage saved by a trip to the Magic Kingdom—we just hope they tipped those employees well.

Life expectancy for U.S. women on decline: New research by the National Center for Health Statistics and the U.S. Census Bureau found that women's life expectancy decreased by an average of 1.3 years across the U.S. The study blamed illness from high blood pressure and other diseases caused by smoking and obesity for the significant decline. Come on, ladies—step away from the cigarettes and onto a treadmill. We can do better.
