New Trend? Tween Beating Caught on Tape

Another video surfaces of middle school girls beating a classmate and posting online.

CNN is reporting that a group of middle school girls from Indiana videotaped themselves beating up a 12-year-old girl. (Click here to see the disturbing video) The tape comes just days after six girls ambushed and beat a classmate in Florida which has been seen by millions on TV and YouTube.

What is happening to our daughters that they're not only engaging in horrible violence, but looking for fame by posting it for the world to see? In our story, Generation YouTube, Friend of Mom•Logic, Shannon Fox says, "For teens, it doesn't matter if they are famous or infamous—as long as fame is in the title, they are all for it."

I don’t have any teenaged girls mine are boys. We have sat down and discussed why they think it is happening and what can we do to prevent it. My boys stated that if one of their girlfriends ever came up with an idea of him being a “watch-out” he will report it to me right away. Or if they come across anything like this they will do what they can to either stop it or get help to stop it. Actually girls ganging up on other girls is an OLD story, it just is now being put up on you tube. What a horrible situation for this child and her parents, I do hope everyone is praying for them. I am unsure as to what I would do in this type of situation, I probably would be the one in jail, I don’t think I could stop myself from going out and beating the girl who decided to beat mine. Makes me sick. I do wish to share one story, I have an autistic son. He received a call a few years back on my work cell phone, I told the little girl to please call the home phone number. Something sent up a red flag right there. Next up, my son comes and asks if he can go for a walk at nine o’clock at night. I tell him no, and ask who he is talking to. He again states it is a girl and I ask him to give me the phone, they hung up. I called the number back and the mother answers I ask her if she knows her daughter is calling boys at nine at night. She proceeds to tell me she doesn’t have any little girls. She has boys and they are having a slumber party. I asked her who she was and who her kid was. She would not tell me then, I told it, it is alright I will find out Monday. Her son and the boys at that house were planning something and it makes me shutter when I think about it. I called the sheriff and was treated like dirt until this deputy found out what I do for a living and all of a sudden his whole attitude changed!
