Peeing in Peace (at Last!)

A sneak peek at the new book by Role Mommy co-founders Beth Feldman and Yvette Manessis Corporon, which hits bookstores this week.

Excerpt: Admit it. As much as you look forward to Fridays, to finally having the weekend home with your family, sometimes you look forward to Mondays even more.

Who could blame you? Certainly not us. After a long exhausting weekend, running to the cleaners, ballet class, baseball practice, the pediatrician, the post office, and every birthday party from Power Rangers to princess—isn't it nice to finally get back to the office and pee in peace? There you can relish relieving yourself in private—nobody banging on the bathroom door to get in, and no toddler demanding to sit on your lap as you try to tinkle.

You know you're a working mom when you sometimes go to the office to relax.

It's not that you don't love the time you spend with your family. But after playing short-order cook to some of the pickiest eaters on the planet, answering the same question for the umpteenth time in one day, and trying to reason with a two-year-old who is singing "Old MacDonald" one minute and throwing a hissy fit in the checkout line of the supermarket the next, isn't it nice to get back to the office and make that amazing transformation from mommy to mogul?

Back at work, you don't have to explain to your boss why eating Fruit Roll-ups every day of the week will inevitably rot your teeth. And although you may be kissing a lot of butt on the job, at least you're not wiping it.
