Trisha Yearwood Gets Kids to Veg Out

The country singer stirs up a little buzz with her new southern-style cookbook on GMA.
When she's not touring the country winning Grammy Awards, Trisha Yearwood is just like us. Okay, not really. But she does really love to cook, so much in fact she wrote a cookbook of her stick-to-the-ribs, family-friendly recipes. Catch her on Good Morning America this a.m. to talk about her Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen: Recipes from My Family to Yours, which just hit bookstores.
At a recent Nissan Live Set for Yahoo!,
Trisha shared her secrets of cooking for picky eaters:
"We were
thinking about ways to get more vegetables into our meals, so came up
with Veggie Night. It has become the kids' favorite! Veggie Night for
my husband, Garth Brooks, sometimes includes meatloaf or roast beef,
but usually we have roasted carrots, cabbage, asparagus, sweet
potatoes, and of course potatoes. My family loves mashed potatoes--they
would eat them on cardboard!" Mmm Trisha, might be worth investing in
some kind of plates?
