Friday, May 9, 2008

One of the biggest families in America appears on Today to share some big news.

Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be pregnant for nearly two decades? That's what it's been like for Michelle Duggar, who appeared on the Today show this morning with her husband Jim Bob and their 17 kids. While sharing how they've managed to juggle the demands of their hectic home life, Michelle made a surprise announcement.

I can now say I “only” have nine children right? And as to college so far all my college age students have gone through on full academic scholarships….I still have four more that will have to do college and 2 in college now and we really have not spent much money on it. Our biggest challenge was and is the utility bill, medical bills, the grocery bill and gas for our passenger van.

It’s easy for her to have another because all the older children have to take care of the the younger ones. What the hell does she do? Those parents are crazy and have created their own cult.

I don’t know about her children but I take care of my own. One of the things my husband and I agreed on up front was that our older children would never be required to change diapers, baby-sit, etc for the little ones. We are mom and dad and we are responsible for each of our children they are not responsible for each other. They help when they want to and I guess because I don’t make them do stuff they like doing it more. When #9 came along they fought over who got to hold her who got to change her etc..if I had not been breast feeding I would have been hard pressed to get any mommy time at all with my youngest child.
