Arrested for Prom Dress

Would you let your teen wear this to prom?

As first reported by khouTV, high-schooler Marche Taylor's unique style not only got her bounced from the formal event, but handcuffed too. A regular teen dating event turned unusual when the high school senior showed up to her Houston prom half naked and she was forbidden to enter for violating the dress code policy. After the high-schooler demanded her money back, an argument ensued and police were called, leading to her arrest.

i think that if she covered her breast it would be exceptable for a fashion show..!! but only convering your nipples isnt the right thing to do and prom is the one night your supposed to look like cinderella not sluterella.

Are you all only assuming her father isn’t around because she is black? so you all just asume she is a ghetto hoodrat with a loud mouth, skanky thoughts and a broken home? If she were white or asian would you all just ASUME she HAD her father around???

Ok that is not a dress, she might as well have gone naked! She should’ve known what the dress code was in the first place. At my high school they sure told us, plus we even got told that if we weren’t sure if our dress would be appropiate enough, that we could bring in a picture to get approvial. I’m really dissapointed in how girls dress up for prom these days though. Prom is a FORMAL dance! You’re suppossed to look very clean cut and sharp, not skanky looking.

I think the parents should have told to take it off and get the money back and go get another dress because she will got humiliated at school and people will stop talking to her and she’ll get attached to drugs and alcohol. Then nobody will talk to her and than shell think about running away.

Wow, first of all people are allowed to do as the please. She was not hurting anyone in any form of way. She wore a revealing outfit. Whats the big deal? I personally would not wear that. But she must have had a whole lot of self-confidence to wear something like that. Parents always think that the media or rappers are to blame because of what teens do. People its called choices. There’s many kinds of media out there. We choose which ones we like and dont like. So please dont be feeling bad for this girl or trash on her. Because she has confidence to wear it. Its her prom and her choice. Seriously it pittys me when parents have so much to say about other peoples kids. Stop worring about people you dont know. And saying things like this is degrading to women? OMG people seriously its a dress!! There are laws and constiutions that allow her to wear this dress. And as her mother goes, teenagers are tricky her mom didnt know because this young lady didnt tell her. Do you know everything your kids do? You might think so but trust me you dont. And why is that because you are judgmental.

People have to stop blaming hip hop and rap. People know that hip hop culture doesn’t tell these women to walk out the house looking STUPID! People have common sense and that dress is a mess. There’s nothing fashionable about that at all. She could have gotten away if it was a lot more tasteful. Somebody should have called a professional to design that the right way!!!

totally trashy…. I cant believe she thinks that is suitable for prom. She looks like a porn star. And for the comment by the friend of the mother: if her mother purchased an different dress, and the daughter changed it,,, then where is the supervision from the mother? Didnt she notice the dress her daughter wore to prom was different?? Seriously I blame the parents.

While I personally wouldn’t allow my daughter to purchase such a dress initially (she’s only 4 now, but I shudder to imagine the fashions that would be available at the time of HER prom!), it was pointed out by a friend of the mother (who responded to this report) that a different dress was purchased, but the young lady returned it for this creative example of what cloth looks like when wrapped around a young human female of child bearing age(I think the Romans and the Greeks did it better when they invented togas). It was NOT a garment appropriate for her age group (I can’t blame the officials at the prom for tossing her out). If I were her mom, I would have been LIVID to see her return home in that outfit. And then I would have sued the owner of the store for allowing the dress exchange to happen.

why blame the hip hop industry? what about the “other people? whatever ..yes true her parents should have followed the dress code..but it happens..what about young girls not from her area going to malls with underwear on ?-lol families are at the mall … this is funny..real funny … I can continue ..but I won’t.
