Arrested for Prom Dress

Would you let your teen wear this to prom?

As first reported by khouTV, high-schooler Marche Taylor's unique style not only got her bounced from the formal event, but handcuffed too. A regular teen dating event turned unusual when the high school senior showed up to her Houston prom half naked and she was forbidden to enter for violating the dress code policy. After the high-schooler demanded her money back, an argument ensued and police were called, leading to her arrest.

she was going to the prom.I see things this way, she was wearing something that she designed. She was only displaying what she created. If the school did not like what she was wearing they were in the right not to let her enter the prom, but they should have giving her money back.As far as the parents goes this report do not speck of them therefor no one should be commenting about them. They could have simply been supporting her fashion creation.

Ok, well lets not mistake a school dance for a club. Knowing that their is a dress code why the hell would anyone dress, literally, like a hoe; going to prom? I mean besides all the rules, it is pretty embarrassing, not just for the person, but for everyone else. Then after all that, she wants her money back, now thats pretty stupid. I also, really do not think its her parents responsibility for the way she dresses herself because she should be old enough to know whats appropriate and whats not.

yeah i think that the girl should have got her money back insted of going to jail.but yeah i have 3 teenage girls and i will b dambed if they go out of the house in something like that .that kind of dress is something a hoe would ware. my girls said that is the sluttiest dress they have ever seen………

Ok. Honestly i think the dress is ugly. But, people have there own taste. She has right to wear what she wants, she’s comfortable in her own body, which is good because she HAS self esteem. People go to clubs like that, teen and adult clubs. If there was a dress code and she violated it, why did they let her in? I also believe that if she wasn’t allowed in she should have gotten her money back. She had every right to stand there and argue for her money back. There are adults in there 20-80 that make disrespectful scenes all the time for dumb incidents and there never arrested.

I really think that dress is out of whack! What was she thinking when she actually bought the dress?

The towel I get out of the shower with covers more than that! What on earth were her parents thinking! It’s one thing if a girl is trying to make a statement about body image and self confidence but this goes way too far. If girls want to break away from the sexism that surrounds us this is the exact opposite thing to do. There are millions of ways to dress cute, fun, and flirty without showing skin. Try it, I dare you!

She new the dress code going into prom. The only reason she did it was for attention and that’s exactly what she got. She’s not stupid she knew what she was doing and she deserves to be punished. It wouldn’t have mattered who it was that walked in the prom looking like that anyone would have got in trouble for wearing that sort of dress. I don’t believe she should get her money back because she knew the dress code before hand therefore;she made the decision knowing the reprocutions would not be good and in doing so she got exaclty what was coming to her. If you can’t stand to get in trouble for your actions than follow the rules. Otherwise; stop the crying!!!

Well.. personally.. i wouldn’t let my daughter wear something like that under my roof.. i mean her butt is almost sticking out of her dress.. and with the way girls dance these days, her butt would of been shown while dancing.. i think that the dress is very provocative.. but now days it seems its all about the sex appeal.. its a ok design but i would leave that dress to the runway then take it to the prom..

If she lived in Kenya or anywhere in Africa she would have been stripped naked cause clearly that was the ambition of dressing that way in the first place.

where were her parents? maybe the parents did not even know but even though the parents did not do their job to raise her properly. And they wonder why a lot of girls get rapped after prom or even kidnap? they wantto get the wrong people around them. That is really bad, if she was my daughter i would let her stay in jail for a long time and send her to a boot camp so she will learn to behave.

Honestly being that i am a young i am terrible disgusted that she would wear something like that to prom. When i went to my prom in 02, there was a dress code and i have learned that most schools if not all have a dress code, just for this reason. I know that if my child were to wear something like that to prom i would have to be arrested for beating her butt. Her mother as well should be disgusted with herself, because as a parent you set the example for your child. This girl is still a child and that is something you would expect a no class person to wear to a club not a senior prom. Apparently her mom thought it was cute. There is NOTHING cute about that piece of material she had on. I know for a fact my mother would have slapped me silly if i even picked up that piece of material and said i was wearing it to prom. Its just plain disgusting, trashy, not classy, and totally disrespectful

i hear everybody being so negative about what this girl is wearing.yes she was wrong to wear this beautiful creation of hers.if she did create that dress then i will compliment her style of fashion first off.next we dont know whether this girl left her parents house with something much more conservative and dressed up at her friends house or something.before we go about blasting these comments put yourself or your daughter in that position.as a mother who probably knew nothing about it and people are judging you so unjustly how would you feel.if it were your daughter and due to these tongue lashings she became the next hooker on the street because nobody thinks good of her simply because she thought she looked good and wanted to outdres the girls at the prom because we all know that thats what the girls are about.who looked the hotteset and all that.she can committ suicide or just feel even more embarassed.in this world we have no right to judge, none of us knows the entire story behind this so i think some of these comments should be kept along the lines of not embarassing the young lady further.if she was seeking attention we sure are giving it to her.secretly some of your daughters are probably pissed off because they didnt get so much attention.before we begin all our comments and accusations we need to think about this….we are not perfect…our children are not perfect…we ALLLLLL make mistakes.lets not glorify and judge persons on th little that we see on the outside.one situation does not make a person what we think they are.
