Arrested for Prom Dress

Would you let your teen wear this to prom?

As first reported by khouTV, high-schooler Marche Taylor's unique style not only got her bounced from the formal event, but handcuffed too. A regular teen dating event turned unusual when the high school senior showed up to her Houston prom half naked and she was forbidden to enter for violating the dress code policy. After the high-schooler demanded her money back, an argument ensued and police were called, leading to her arrest.

She should be ashamed of herself. The fact that she was standing next to someone while another person took the picture and didnt say anything to her is pitiful. Her parents should have beat some sense into her. What kind of self-respecting black woman would allow her daughter to dress like that? And how can she ask for her money back? It was her desicion to wear a dress he knew would get her into trouble. Plus, since when do you get your money back from a school function? Seriously! Whats really going on?

Even if the dress had happened to be in dress code it still makes her look trashy. If her mother really cared about her well-being she woulnt have let her go to the prom looking like a hooker. People can get the wrong idea if you dress that way and might think it’s ok to try and have sex with her. She could have gotten hurt just because of the way she dressed and I think she should have put more thought into it.

I´m not american so maybe I don´t understand the point of view of most people.I`will never wear nothing like that, but everybody has the right to dress as them like.

It was said earlier that Mom didn’t know she wore it. Apparently someone who did a post works w/ Mom and mom paid for a different dress and the girl changed. Which makes sense. I’m not sure how many people realize this, but most teenagers are going to do what they want, whether their parents like it or not. That dress really is something else though… she probably paid a pretty penny for the little piece of fabric.

um..yea for the people commenting that hip hop is to blame..get a life. people just want something to place blame on for the inability to control their kids. seriously if your child is mimicking what they see on tv then maybe you need to change your parenting skills. i believe without a doubt that if a child is brought up to think for themselves and respect for themselves they wouldn’t copy tv. can’t say its not possible b/c my younger cousins who are 4 and 8 dont copy what they see in rap videos. if she thought that the dress was “okay” then thats her. thats whats wrong with the world..judgemental people like you lots..as if you and your children are really just the cream of the crop.

I’m in high school myself, and i know that if someone walked in my school prom like that people would be talking so much trash about her. She is putting herself out there for men and boys to look at in a negative way. I know my parents would be like “fashion? child take that off now”!

First of all everyone is accusing the parents when we ourselves knows that children will appear to be saints and angels around us and then when they leave our presence they are satans advocates and they fall in the trap of peer pressure. Therefore the parents should NEVER be the blame for this I read hwere someone said that the mother never approved for this dress and didn’t know that the prostitute daughter of hers was going back to change the style from what she had paid for.. I said prostitute because if you look good at the picture no.1 a real decent lady will never think of wearing something like that not even if she was going to sleep that is a dress for someone who sells there body and is out at night searching to make the dollars. I am not so sorry to say that she is not a lady she was just displaying who she really is and parents always gets the blame when most of the time the parents are innocent.. To all of you pleaseee take a good look at that picture and figure it out for yourself that is not a lady that is a 100% prostitute and her attitude displayed who she really is.

I think that the public is being way too harsh. At times during prom season teens go crazy with fashions and dress ideas and clearly this childs idea got way out of hand. I think the child is wrong, but I don’t believe that we should blame ne 1’s parents. Especially those who don’t know the tru story

i am a pesron that loves to express my personal, within reason. Even though she has a right to dress how wants, they had a right not tom permit her into the prom; but from my point of view she looks very tacky, she seems like a beautiful young lady, that just wants attention.
