Would you let your teen wear this to prom?

As first reported by khouTV, high-schooler Marche Taylor's unique style not only got her bounced from the formal event, but handcuffed too. A regular teen dating event turned unusual when the high school senior showed up to her Houston prom half naked and she was forbidden to enter for violating the dress code policy. After the high-schooler demanded her money back, an argument ensued and police were called, leading to her arrest.

I think the dress is real cute. But she knew the dress code. && she is no one special, so she should have been banned fro prom because she didnt follow the dress code.

I cannot BELIEVE that her parents didn’t say anything to her. If my aunt and uncle saw me wearing that even in the house they would be furious. A girl should have more respect for herself. That looks sleezy. It’s not something that would say “I’m a respectable young lady”. That’s what any girl’s appearance should say about her.

i dont hink that the dree is ugly but that maybe it just wasnt he right time and palce to waer it to. as a senior myself i understand the need to want to go to prom in a bangin dress that every1 would want 2 have themselves…i kno that at my school this year alot of the girls were not really sure if they would even be able to get into prom because of the “dress code” u have your basic rules but even if you brought in a picture to show the person standing at the door may not a prove… all in al i think it was a risky decision but i understand how she could have thought it was ok

that would be nice for a strip club but for someone to remember you in your most beautiful moments and for you going away i think they would need single for you in that dress

while the dress isn’t covering much i’m sure that it covers more than most low cut shirts that the other students wear to school. while i myself wouldn’t wear this, i don’t believe it’s as bad as everyone made it out to be. i read the comments before the picture loaded and i expected to see some nudity or something horrific. i know that if i tried something like this my parents would knock me silly and i wouldnt dream of going anywhere for a long while, but with just graduating two years ago i do know that most girls wear much less to school in the summer. where the shorts go up and the shirts come down. schools need to start cracking down on everyone instead of just picking who they want to yell at and point out the dress code to. i dont approve of the dress but i do believe the school played a large part in bringing it on.

where is her mom if i let my house looking like that i wouldn’t see daylight again. my doughter has more fabric in her training bra than that that is like breath taking that someone would wear that to prom…… dont get me wrong that it is one night a you would be doing anything anyways but men take advantage of you and you have to cover yourself up. i mean you can still look sexy in a dress and not leave the house )or strip club) looking like that.. that comes from the heart!!!!

I would not let my daughter show any skin or not that much at least. You wouldn’t want your kids getting into all sorts of trouble because they dress like that. Cover up girl! more… no more!

Yes I would allow my daughter to wear a dress like this to prom. the whole point of prom (well in teens eyes) is just a fashion show, and to stand out in the crowd. She’s about to graduate anyway. prom is suppose to be your fairy tale…everyone should have an happy ending!!!

She should be shamed of her-self wearing a dress like that. I mean…Where is the self respect? Why would she want to reveal herself like that? It’s her parents fault because they should be in control of their children..Guess they dont care about their children… I mean, thats only poor parenting…Want proof??? Look at her!

Everyone at sometime or other in their life has made fashion mistakes, this one just so happen to be made very public. America is supposed to be the land of the free but some people want to decide for us how free we can be.

I think though i wouldn’t want my daughter wearing a dress like this. To each their own. Part of growing up is getting in touch with who you are, and learning self expression. We live and we learn. We want our children to grow up loving themselves no matter what they look like. Now a days more and more of our children are growing up unhappy with their bodies. On a positive note she is embracing her body! Isn’t that what we want as parents- Would you rather her have went to the prom in a turtle neck dress that is over sized because she doesn’t feel good about who she is? C’mon now- people wear less on music video’s….think about where she may have gotten this inspiration in the first place….i believe lil kim wore a dress similar to this one…but much more provocative. I say leave the gal alone- let her figure out who she is, and lets not make her feel bad for exploring who is she. ” i hear and i forget, i see and i remember, i do and i understand” ~author unknown~

My opinion is that all these ppl that are saying that this young lady looks like a prostitute, hooker, ect. need to back off. Ya’ll have went too far with the name calling (a little childish). So what, if that girl created her own thing that doesn’t mean she should b punished for it. I mean everyone has there own sense of style. Would u want to be kicked out of a place just because u were being you. I’m pretty sure that the young lady didn’t mean to come off as a prostitute. She made an honest mistake and who doesn’t.
