Moms, how does three months off with pay sound?

Hooray! The Family Leave Insurance Act is up for a vote in Congress. If it passes, workers will have 12 weeks a year of paid leave to care for a new baby or sick family member, treat their own illness, or deal with complications of a family member deployed by the military. Yes, PAID! What a concept.

The United States is one of only four countries out of 170 that don't offer new Moms fully paid maternity leave. The other three are Papua New Guinea, Swaziland, and Liberia. Ouch!

MomsRising.org, an advocacy group, is moving full speed ahead to get this bill passed. Click here to add your voice to the cause! Knowing you could take three months off would sure beat a Sunday brunch for Mother's Day.

I think that if the bill passes it would be nice. However, my true opinion is that mothers should not be working. If people were more responsible in planning families, mother’s would not need to worry about maternity leave. Children need mother’s who stay at home. If people did not need so many toys or fancy houses and cars, mother’s could stay at home with thier children where they belong. And as far as single mother’s who need the paid maternity leave, why are you sleeping around to get pregnant? I have very little tolerance for working mothers as stay at home mother’s recieve little respect.
