China earthquake kills thousands: More than 7,600 people have been killed by Monday's powerful 7.8 earthquake in just one affected region of central China, the Chinese government said. 900 children were also buried when a school building collapsed, and 50 bodies were found there alone. Officials expect the death toll to continue rising.

Families defend vaccine-autism link in court: Families of children with autism will appear in federal court today to make their case that government-controlled vaccinations containing the mercury-based preservative thimerosal triggers autism. Families are fighting for the government to recognize the vaccine link to autism to gain vindication and financial assistance for costly medical bills.

Postage stamps go up...again: It's that time of year. Postage stamp rates increase today to a whopping 42 cents. A new law allows for the U.S. Post Office to increase the price of stamps annually, as long as it stays within the rate of inflation. To avoid having to buy 1 cent stamps every year, the post office now sells forever stamps which are good forever, no matter how much the cost of postage increases and they cost the same, so buy 'em up!
