Project Compassion paints lasting memories of fallen soldiers: Project Compassion is a non-profit organization founded in 2003. As a gift of gratitude from one American to another, it gives portraits of fallen soldiers to the families of U.S. servicemen killed since September 11th. To date, five artists have painted over 1,000 portraits, and their mission is to capture the souls of soldiers who have died on canvas.
