Bacteria linked to sudden infant death?: A new British study reports that Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli bacteria were found in nearly half of all children who died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Experts say they do not know if levels of bacteria are the cause or a risk factor in SIDS-related deaths. Nearly 2000 infants die each year from SIDS in the U.S.

Family faces deportation as 9-year-old girl fights to stay alive: A family from the Dominican Republic brought their sick child to the United States to receive life-saving medical treatment in 2005. She suffers from a rare combination of severe asthma, allergies, chronic lung disease and hormone deficiencies. Now the family is facing deportation since their visas have expired. Doctors for Lil Mejia say this is a "humanitarian issue" and don't know if she will live if she is forced to leave the country.
