Scary Prom Nights From Hell

A teen's dream night is sometimes a Mom's worst nightmare.
As Moms, we were horrified to hear what really goes on at prom. What is supposed to be the best night of teens' lives sometimes turns tragic ... or even deadly. Check out this clip from E's THS: Prom From Hell:
We talked to friend of momlogic Counseling Mom to get her perspective on prom night dangers.
"This hard-hitting show illustrated the depth of what we as parents are up against in trying to keep our kids safe. It was filled with images from baby pictures to disturbing photos of accident scenes and funeral caskets. It was narrated entirely by parents, eyewitnesses, and teens. Listening to these brave parents sharing their stories of loss, it was impossible not to be touched on a very deep level."
How do Moms talk to their own kids about prom night dangers? "I think to really drive it home, we need to do more than talk. Kids don't treat the prom as just another night out and, as parents, neither should we. Our approach needs to echo the intensity with which teens view prom night. One short discussion or lecture about drugs, alcohol, and prom night safety is not enough--it needs to be a continuous dialogue between you and your teen that lasts for weeks if not months beforehand."
Do you know what your teens will be doing on prom night?
Nice article. Good reading. I’ve got a single observation to submit about t-shirts.
