ML Interview with the 'D.C. Madam'

Deborah Jeane Palfrey, found dead yesterday by her mom, spoke to ML not long ago.

"D.C. Madam" Deborah Jeane Palfrey, 52, committed suicide yesterday by hanging, and was found in a shed by her mother. Recently, friend of momlogic Judge Jeanine Pirro sat down with Deborah Jeane for an interview about her motivations for becoming a madam shortly after her 1990 arrest for prostitution, and how she likened her latest arrest and prosecution to a witch hunt by federal prosecutors.

Momlogic spoke with Jeanine Pirro for her reaction to Deborah Jeane's suicide. "When I heard the news, I was stunned," she said. "I found her to be a person with a strong core, not easily intimidated--even by the federal government. She was a lovely woman who had gotten the short end of the stick, and was willing to fight the good fight. She had gone to prison once already. The feds impoverished her and told her which lawyers she could have, and they were about to send her to prison again."

On April 15, 2008 a jury found Palfrey guilty on multiple counts of racketeering and money laundering, and she was awaiting sentencing. Rather than go back to prison, Deborah Jeane chose her own fate.
