Little did Detroit TV reporter Peggy Apgar know that asking Barack Obama a question would catapult her name into the headlines. While touring an automobile plant in Detroit, Apgar asked the senator a question and he responded by saying "Hold on a second, sweetie..." Open mouth, insert foot. It seems Obama (or his handlers) realized they shouldn't have addressed the reporter in that manner and proceeded to leave her a voicemail apology later that evening. He was SO condescending. He’s slick and cocky and I don’t trust him at all.
If this is the worst of him, he has my vote.
So condescending. Unbelievable.
I am not an Obama supporter or a democrat, but I think this is just plain silly. I don’t think he should of apologized at all and I don’t think he inserted his foot into his mouth. He has done that plenty of other times, but not this time.
Although I myself don’t like being called “sweetie”, I think that people are blowing this out of proportion. You can tell the difference when people are trying to be polite and when they are condescending.
