ML OBSESSION |
As a mother who had to raise her child by herself because her first mistake, her husband left her 31 years ago, I truly appreciate the thought of Mother’s Day, we do what we do because we love our children. We enjoy their happiness, their laughter. When they cry our hearts break with each little tear. Their successes mean more to us than our own successes, because they are our children, we were given the privilege of allowing them to grow within our wombs, we gave birth and as we watched them grow from helpless little infants to strong, intelligent, kind, loving and compassionate adults, we gave them our love, our wisdom, we disciplined with love and compassion. So yes the thought of Mother’s Day feels right to me. It’s a reminder of what my life has been about since becoming a mother, its made me a stronger woman, more thoughtful, compassionate, kinder and more loving and I’ve learned so much from my child as she grew. Now, I think I deserve that necklace and the mysterious yet wonderful gift pack:) I want the holiday in remembrance of who I am but I want something to hold in my hands too :) I got the stretch marks, the all nighters with a sick child and upchuck, I caught every cold she brought home from school, I had no social life, I baked cookies and cupcakes for her classroom, I went to PTA meetings, teacher conferences, I had sleep-overs where I had to entertain 5, 6, 8 and sometimes 10 giggling, shreaking little girls and later teenage girls, all by myself. That necklace will look good around my neck and whatever is in the gift pack I will cherish. Thank you in advance:)

Mother’s Day is a day to honor mothers. Not just OUR mother. All mothers. This year, my daughter and her two sons are alone, her active-duty husband is 3200 miles from home, in training for his next assignment. MY mother and I are planning something special for her, cuz she’s alone - again - on Mom’s Day.
MY mother raised 4 children with the help of HER mom. Mom had to work, Grandma watched us during the day. Grandpa taught me to drive a nail, correctly use a paint brush before I learned to ride a bike. It wasn’t easy. There was never enough $ for extras. But we were happy. We were together. We didn’t have Nintendo, color TV, Cable available in our area. I remember cutting down two scrawny trees with nearly dull steak knives for our Christmas tree. We tied ‘em together with bread bag twists. It leaned a bit, but it was a beautiful Christmas tree. Mom still has the pictures of her ‘wildflower Mother’s Day Bouquets’.

As a young single mother of two I was working hard to provide the best for my children. While working full time, I still spent every lunch hour to breast feed my infant son. I used all my paid time off to attend special events at my 5 year old daughters school. But it took a terrible car accident which left me paralyzed from the chest down and confined to a wheel chair to trully appreciate what a gift it is to be a Mom. With my 5 year old daughter and my 11 month old son to keep me going I now appreciate every minute of being thier Mom. There is no greater honor or privelige than being allowed to love and be loved by your own children.

My mom raised 5 children on her own. My dad never supported our family. As soon as she could, she went to nursing school in order to support us all. Immediately, after graduation she called the local welfare office and removed herself from their support. Since then she has worked very hard, she encouraged all of us to further our education. Through all our successes and mistakes she continues to love us unconditionally. She is my best friend, who I continuelly learn from.

Hello Ellen! I am a divorced mother of 2 teenagers (17+16) We have alot of family problems right now with step parents, step sisters, half brothers, school, peer pressure, I could go on and on….We have been going to family therapy(with whole family) for awhile now..and I’ve realized that some people were never taught how to love, how to hug,how to show emotion…And this just saddens me. I just thought everyone knew how to love. Anyway, I am not writing in for myself, I am writing in for my wonderful mother that brought myself and 3 brothers up with LOVE, and I am so appreciative for that, she is always there for us with open arms, we always hear I Love You, she would give the shirt off her back to us..My mom recently suffered a massive stroke and had to be flown by helicopter to a different hospital for special care, It was horrible to see everything she had to go through and the thought of losing her, Us kids stuck by her every single day+ night in the hospital to make sure she was well taken care of and had everything she needed. She is home now after 3 months. Her speech and her right side were affected, and she is working very hard to recover.I am so proud of her and I thought she deserves something nice like this to help show how wonderful she is!
Happy Mothers Day!
Thanks Ellen, Diane Irwin:)

My mom should win this gift. She has six kids, we are 27,24,21,and triplet 11 year old boys. She works at home, she does hay for my dad, while he works truck driving. She deserves this so much, and to add to her stress I gave her a grandchild last year and this year, and she also has another grandchild 9 from my sister. So she never gets anything for herself, she never has the time, so this would be a great reward for her. So please pick her.

I would love to have this, i am a single mother of two at the age twenty, one is two and the other six months. My son does visit his dad and his family, they dont like me at all because he was very bad to me, cheating, hiting cutting me down and i refused to stay with him even though we have kids together. I have no family here, im on my own and taking care of two kids is a around the clock job. There dad and his family wont encourge him or have him do anything for me for mothers day, not even tell me happy mothers day or even draw a picture. I usually find my self crying every time i am alone. It crushes me that i cant enjoy this day being a mother who cares so much for her kids and is always with them making sure they get the most out of life and have fun.
