Political news giant, Tim Russert, dies of heart attack: NBC News Washington Bureau and longtime moderator of "Meet the Press" collapsed at work on Friday afternoon, preparing for his weekly broadcast. The political analyst died of a sudden heart attack and, an autopsy found, he had significant coronary artery disease. Russert, who is survived by his wife and adult son, Luke, was a family man and often named "Father of the Year" by parenting groups. He is the author of the father/son memoir Big Russ and Me and also Wisdom of Our Fathers.

Person of interest sought in murder of two young girls: Police released a sketch on Friday afternoon of a man they say is a "person of interest." Authorities say the man--described as American Indian, 6 feet tall, with black hair and a pony tail, driving a white Ford or Chevrolet single cab pickup--was seen near the scene of the horrifying shooting death of 13-year-old Taylor Paschal-Placker and 11-year-old Skyla Whitaker. Investigators believe this man may have seen something that can help solve this case.

16-year-old girl struck by lighting, wins lottery: What are the odds? 16-year-old BreAnna Helsel was lucky to be alive after she was struck by lighting during a thunderstorm last week. With the advice from hospital workers, BreAnna had her mom buy her a lottery ticket and she won $20!

High school lies about students dying to scare kids straight: El Camino High School in Oceanside, CA, is under fire after telling students that several popular students had died in drunk-driving accidents. Many classmates wept inconsolably. But a few hours later, it was revealed that it was all a hoax. School officials say it was a scared-straight exercise designed to dramatize the consequences of drinking and driving. Do you think the school went too far?
