A Florida mom is arrested and charged with neglect after leaving her daughter at home alone in the middle of the night to grab a drink. Seriously.
Season Cardona, 26, allegedly left her 7-year-old daughter home alone for at least an hour late Friday night. Fox 13 in Tampa Bay reports the daughter called 911 around 2 a.m. because she was scared and thought her mother was lost. Police went to the home to investigate, and the delinquent mother arrived 30 minutes later. She told the cops she'd been at a local bar and then had grabbed a hot dog at the gas station. WTF?
It gets worse: She then told police that she'd read online that's it's okay leave children alone once they're six years old. (Wonder what parenting site published that article? Wasn't us!) She was charged with child neglect and is now out on bail. Her daughter is currently staying with her father.

Did the article she read say it was ok to leave them home alone without telling them in advance they were going to be home alone?!

BTW - they sell liquor at the grocery store these days. Stock up if you need a drink that bad at 2 in the morning.
are all the 20 something moms in florida insane?? first casey anthony LOSES her daughter and now this?. OMG i wanted to CRY when i heard that poor little girls voice “my mommy is lost” The sad thing is, that this poor little girl who obviously loves her mommy is about to go thru hell and probably not get to see her for awhile and its all her selfish, stupid moms fault
Ms Cardona more than likely has a drinking problem. It would be good if the judge made her go through a 90-day in-patient Alcohol/Drug program. In a way, this is very sad not only for the child, but for the mother who is probably an alcoholic and needs help immediately.
Where is the kids father?
She probably is just another woman who had a kid out of wedlock and wants everyone to feel sorry for her because she is a single mother.
I can’t imagine leaving my 7-year-old home alone. It’s scary to think that parents will do that, at least the little girl knew how to call 911. This story made me cry, poor little girl!!!
to let everyone know her father has custody of her and she is extermely happy.
Parents like her should be put to jail!!!
She should be ashamed of herself. That’s awful…what if something terrible had happened? She’d be one of those moms to say “I only left her for a second.”
