Monday, July 21, 2008
How intelligent are we? One man attempts to find out, and his video quest is sweeping the Internet.
When Aussie comedian Julian Morrow took to the streets of America to ask people basic questions about the world--all in an effort to dispel the stereotype that Americans are not intelligent--the answers were startling. Watch for yourself to hear the surprising--and amusing--Q&A!

OMG this is the most embarrassing video ever! I’m NOT proud to be an American after watching this!

So much for that great “No Child Left Behind” program! Seems to be working out really well.

well, look where we stand academically compared to other countries. we’re like, what? 14th or something? It’s certainly not last, but considering the position of our country in the world, anything below 5th is pretty embarrassing, let alone below 10th! going by that, yes, we are pretty stupid. we don’t need a video to prove it :P

My ten year old knew the correct answer to all of these except she missed one on the coalition of the willing question. We home educate with help form various tutors and enrichment classes in areas that I am weak.

As a nation we are unbelievably stupid. The only tragedy is we’re too stupid to realize it. Add the one who said, “So much for the child left behind.” The “children” in this video were left behind long before that program.

Come on some times when you are put on the spot you don’t know the answer. But you really do. it’s not that we are stupid. I’m sure if we went over seas and asked them questions about their country and politics they wouldn’t do that well. It’s all about being put on the spot. yeah you look at this video and say OMG what is wrong with us. Jay Leno does the same thing from time to time. Why don’t you go ask your friends this out of the blue and see if they can name a country that starts with a “U”. I know we all know the answer but just go up to anyone age 20+ and see what they say.

I wonder how many people they had to interview before finding these few people. I believe that most folks in the US would be able to answer these questions. I am not an American, just a person who can spot a slanted news story.
