The New Botox Is in Your Fridge

Forget high priced creams, botox injections, and visits to the plastic surgeon. The secret to staying young and healthy is found in broccoli!

An article in Psychology Today claims that recent research done at UCLA found that sulforaphane, a natural compound found in broccoli, may protect the immune system from cardiovascular disease, degenerative joint diseases, and diabetes. Sulforaphane is known to rejuvenate your immune system enough to fight off these common diseases associated with aging.

For those of you who would rather have a root canal than eat a serving of the green tree-looking thing, registered dietitian and culinary educator Diane Henderiks suggests a broccoli sprout. The sulforaphane in one broccoli sprout equals an entire head of broccoli. You can put it in a salad or add it to the end of your vegetable saute. You won't even be able to tell it's in there.

Thanks for the suggestion. Broccoli (while good for you) isn’t always the most appealing thing to eat. :)
