These dolls are so life-like, police tried to save one.

Concerned that a baby was lying unconscious in a car, police smashed the window open only to find one of those creepy "reborn dolls" instead of an actual infant in peril. The dolls, meticulously crafted by women with a desperate need to "play house," can cost thousands of dollars and come with everything from motorized heart beats to fake keepsake umbilical cords.

Vynette Cernik, (shown holding her doll) was apologetic about the incident: "People do have to be careful when they go out with them," Cernick said. "I tell them to hold them properly, not dangle them by one leg or something, because other people do think they are real babies and become alarmed." Some concerned Aussie citizens have suggested the owners of reborns put signs on the dolls saying they are fake. Something tells us the women who are obsessed--some might say addicted--to making dolls look real wouldn't be into that idea.

What is the harm if they appear life like??? The women should be fined or jailed. There should be some visible marking on the doll that indicates it is not real. TOY GUNS MUST BE MARKED because they are manufactured to look too real and can cause tragic events to happen. If the women need the Reborn Babies; fine, but they don’t belong in public. LEAVE THEM AT HOME!!

Christine let me ask you if you buy a doll from a store does it come in a box,ummm YES!!!.If you are making them to show off and sell save yourself some grief and have boxes made for them you took the time to make the doll make the time to box it.

I think that if you want to have a fake baby that looks like the real thing. Then they should at least treat them like if they were real. Otherwise, these women just want to draw attention by dangling the babies like if they were dolls (which they are) so that they can get attention from the peoeple are around them. I don’t think the police should pay for the broken window! and I do think that they should put some kind of decal on the dolls forehead or something!

Referencing Mary’s comment: If you create a doll to be “life-like” how could you possibly be surprised when someone thinks it’s “life-like”? I would hope to God, that if a cop, or anyone else for that matter, saw a “baby” or “child” in a hot car, that they wouldn’t take the time to place their head to the glass and stare before acting. In situations like this, you act first, ask questions later. Referencing Henry and Trish’s comment: It’s almost always true that anything created, will eventually be used for good, and bad. Some sick person will always find a way to use something like this in a disgusting manner. It’s sad, but true.

As a cop myself, I would bust out every window of your vehicle to rescue a infant left alone in a car. The mere fact that the doll looks life like is good enough for me. Kudos to the cop for busting out the car window to rescue it (real or not).

Alot of you people seem to miss that the “treatment” is occasionally prescribed by psychiatrists to help women deal with loss or not being able to have a baby. Its not much different than a woman latching onto a pet to replace the loss of a child, except they do not have to worry about feeding or watering. And it is a far better than them putting clothes on a poor dog or cat. This is a happy medium. :D

If this person lost a child recently, maybe leaving this doll in the car shows the reason why she no longer has a child. COULD IT BE, SHE DID LEAVE HER CHILD IN THE CAR AND SHE IS REENACTING THE TERRIABLE THING- OVER AND OVER? To get her greif out.

sick and weird if it a colection ok fine. but if your using it for a replacement wow .when our parents die we dont make fake ones put them in a house and visit them on the weekend .. i had an older brother die at birth over 40 years ago on his mirthyday my mom still crys or gets emotional dad a little too . thats life it happens we do our best to get over it not make fake people to pretend everythings still ok. any doctor who sais this is good need his license revoked you heal thru exceptance no denial . get a life .

the woman should be treated like a mother would be if she left a child in the car so she could remember the doll like real and causes a panick like a real baby so the same punishment so be handed out

Ok, what’s up with this? I can understand up to a certain point. However, if you want a baby (doll) you better treat the darn baby (doll) like a really baby. Don’t leave it in the car ~ would you do this to a really baby? Hello!!

Don’t forget the little boy that cried Wolf .If something like that keeps happening who knows one day a real life infant may be left in a car and then what ? Gee didnt know women were so freaky to need a dolly after primary school. Ya know they make full size male dolls for ya girls I have considered them there full size women dolls. They dont talk back, never go shopping, n they are always ready. Guess they be making teenage dollys soon for the pedophiles. Get a life you inscure wenchs.
