Michelle Obama Talks Motherhood
Michelle Obama spoke at a gathering of Women for Obama in Chicago. Read her letter to momlogic about the event -- and hear what she said about being a mom.
Michelle Obama's letter to momlogic:
"I'm very excited to join your network of women dedicated to supporting one another and sharing our unique perspectives as moms. We wear so many hats -- wives, mothers, professionals, sisters, friends and citizens, and this forum is so important to discuss issues that matter so much to all of us.
On Monday, I spoke with a gathering of Women for Obama in Chicago -- a network of women across the country who have been organizing and engaging women in the political process throughout this campaign. At this event, I had a chance to share with those women my experiences on the campaign trail, and why I believe my husband, Senator Barack Obama, is the right leader to support women and their families, and enact policies to help them to reclaim the American Dream.
Here's a short video excerpted from my speech:
And, at the event, the campaign unveiled a 12-page blueprint for America's Working Women and Families that I wanted to share with you. You can read it by clicking HERE.
Barack and I understand that for working families, trying to balance jobs and kids and maybe even again parents of their own, the American Dream can feel like it's slipping away -- and that's not fair or right. Barack is committed to arming working families with the resources they need to not only survive but thrive, and we hope you'll support this campaign and stay part of the dialogue to help bring these dreams within reach.
Best,
Michelle Obama"
Later this week, Michelle Obama will be answering questions from momlogic moms. Stay tuned!
