Botched 911 calls lead to mother's death: Denise Lee was at home with her two sons when she was kidnapped and eventually murdered by Michael King, a man who she had never met before. Denise was able to make a 911 call with the kidnapper's phone, but was unable to hold the call long enough for the police to isolate her location. A woman later spotted Denise in the back of King's car struggling and called 911, however, there was a mixup at dispatch, and the information was never passed on to authorities. That mishap is now being blamed for Denise's death.

Mom Lisa Leslie involved in WNBA brawl: Lisa Leslie was involved in a fight that broke out during a WNBA game Tuesday night, creating a dangerous pileup in the center court. It has not yet been decided how the players involved will be punished. "This is not the way we want to represent ourselves and the WNBA," Leslie said, "and for it to be a television game, obviously, it'll probably make some highlights. Teen sues teacher for $75,000 for calling her ugly : Jade Ray of Mount Miguel High School, is suing her choir teacher for $75,000 because she embarrassed her in class. Her teacher told her that she couldn't deliver singing grams because she "looked bad" and had no choir t-shirt. When Ray insisted that she be allowed to participate, the teacher called her a "brat" and "ugly" and kicked her on her buttocks.
