Lindsay Lohan hospitalized after motor crash: After being hit by a moving bike outside a club in Manhattan, Lindsay Lohan was taken to Beth Israel Medical Center for treatment, and released at 4 a.m. on Sunday. "She's not hurt. That's all I really care about," Lohan's dad Michael said. Lohan's rumored girlfriend Samantha Ronson was by her side during the accident. The actress was in New York filming the new season of Ugly Betty.
Boy charged with killing his parents: The 24 year-old son of a Rhode Island couple was charged with the murders of his parents, James A. Soares Sr., 60, and Marian Soares, 53, after police found the couple buried in their backyard cesspool on Saturday. According to authorities, James A. Soares killed his parents with a garden hoe on July, then reported them missing six days later. Soares is being held in custody until his arraignment Monday, but police won't comment on whether or not Soares confessed to the murder.
Man opens fire during children's play: A Tennessee man wielding a shotgun started shooting at a Unitarian church during a kid's play Sunday morning, killing two adults and wounding seven others. Jim Adkisson, 58, was charged with first-degree murder after Sunday's shooting at the Knoxville church. Police have no motive for the shooting but are considering it a hate crime. The church describes itself as a community that has worked for social change including desegregation, women's rights and gay rights since the 1950s. No kids were injured during the incident.
Man offers $1 billion reward for cancer cure: Mike Dewey, 48, a Texas consultant, has concocted a plan to eliminate breast cancer by offering a hefty reward to the person who discovers a cure. Dewey says his daughters are at increased risk for developing the disease since his wife has breast cancer. He doesn't have the cash now, but he's raised $22 million in pledges and $90,000 in donations through his nonprofit foundation. Some experts are critical, saying finding a cure depends on science, but others who are frustrated with the slow pace of research praise the plan as a bold move. Dewey launched his Web site last year and offers other "Victory Project Awards" worth $1 billion each to anyone who cures diabetes, or creates a car capable of getting 150 miles per gallon.

While I admire those of us like Dewey who have good intentions, I think one of the core problems ISN’T that diabetes, cancers etc. can’t be cured…it’s that it’s much more profitable to The Powers That Be to keep people sick because diseases are HUGE money makers.
It’s disgusting and sad, but let’s face the truth: it’s no coincidence how we have pills to make you have sex better, pills to make you lose weight, pills to make you happy…
but nothing for the common cold, diabetes, HIV or cancers…why?
Most Western medicine treats only the symptoms, not the main problem…that’s why many drugs contain limited curative properties with so many side effects…and guess what?
It keeps us coming back to the doctors for more and more drugs THAT DON’T WORK.
There’s so much more $$$$$ for keeping us dependently sick than getting us completely, independently healthy and this is the REAL underlying issue we must address!
