Why is the famous Internet screamer angry again?

On Friday's Today show, Kathie Lee Gifford publicly apologized to YouTube divorcee, Tricia Walsh Smith, for saying she should be "whacked" on Thursday's show. The comment spurred Smith to create another YouTube video, this time ranting against the talk show host for criticizing her during a difficult and dangerous time in her life; she has allegedly been receiving death threats for her messy divorce from Schubert Organization President Philip Smith.
 
Gifford said she didn't mean to imply Smith should get "whacked," explaining that matchmakers should "take a whack at setting Smith up with a new man." Kathie Lee said, "I was trying to help her find love! I don't know how I got in trouble ... I do apologize to her."
