When Role Models Are Law Breakers

After spending just 173 minutes in jail, reality star Khloe Kardashian was released due to overcrowding. But with so many young stars going to jail we wondered: How many other celeb idols have worn the orange jumpsuit? We were amazed at the results.

Although WE may not recognize the new wave of Hollywood's emerging stars that are getting thrown in jail,  our kids certainly do. These starlets are redefining what it means to "make it" in Hollywood. Just today, Khloe Kardashian of Keeping up with the Kardashians fame was ordered to serve up to 30 days in jail, but was released after just 173 minutes in the can.

Paris Hilton has openly spoken about how going to jail changed her life, and Nicole Richie, now a mommy, seems to have turned her life around after doing time. But what does this "15 minutes of jail" trend suggest? Is it becoming the "norm" or worse, the "cool" thing to do?

HEL-LO! Celebrities ARE NOT role models…sad, but TRUE! Celebrities are not the replacement for parents…just because they’re famous doesn’t make them better qualified as people for your kids to emulate. They should be emulating YOU: Mom & Dad and if they’re not…that’s the problem.

Oh wow…THAT’S funny if you call what Nicole Ritchie did “doing time.” More like a time out!

I agree with Lazy Parenting. Show me where Khloe Kardashian signed up to be a role model to your kid. How about combating the problem by first starting to help them choose better role models.

The Kardashians role models? I don’t think so.

I can’t help but think that Bruce Jenner should just cut his losses, no matter what it costs him during the divorce, and get deitch this train wreck of a family

if you or i did anything like what the celebs do theirs no gosh darn way that we would be let out early, we would prob have to do extra time. the only way they will learn their lesson is to make them serve their full sentence. if jack bauer can do it then they all should.

She only got out early because of her celebrity status. Overcrowded jail? Yeah right.

Too much freedom, too much personal choices as I see it. These young celebs whether they are role models or not are causing themselves much unwanted attention. They are not only breaking rules, but violating the law. That is where they get themselves into some serious trouble. It isn’t cute, it’s not funny, and mostly it is due to the fact that many cannot handle there fame. If they could, they would be proud of themselves, but instead are running around to all the night clubs, which is perfectly fine for awhile, but when the back lash of all that running around, along with any cocaine, herion, recreational drug use comes into play. You are going to be tired, and tired people are not usually known for making good companions. As Lyndsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie,Brittany Spears, Lil Wayne, there are many starlets and upcoming artist, that find the competition a problem. Many succesful bands have attributed their fame to psychoanalyst, and other professionals that have helped them keep there heads on straight, and their bands in tune. These young people are peeling out of their youth, growing up way too fast, and haven’t looked at some of the obvious hurt they have caused their familes or the young fans, that have got to be at the least confused about the role their supposed role model is portraying.
