Continued from The Secret Your Man Isn't Telling You, Page 1

Yup, from coast to coast--and even the Midwest--the majority preferred the size 0. ZERO! Pretty interesting, considering the average size of an American woman is a 14. Let us break it down for you:

In New York City, a town where diversity rules, we were surprised by the lack of diversity in people's choices.

  • Model # 1 was the hands-down winner with a whopping 78% of the votes.
  • Model # 2 came in a distant second with 10% of the votes.
  • Model # 3 came in third with a paltry 8% of the votes.

In Los Angeles, a city known to worship at the altar of thin, the results were a little more varied--but don't get too excited.

  • Model # 1 got 55% of the votes.
Model # 2 came in second with 30% of the votes.
  • Model # 3 came in third with just 12% of the votes.

To find out what people in the Midwest thought, we turned to our friends at WKQI Detroit, Channel 955, "Mojo in the Morning." They ran our survey and the results were fairly consistent with the rest of the country.

  • Model # 1 swept 60% of the votes.
  • Model # 2 (once again) came in second with 18% of the votes.
Model # 3 brought up the rear with 13% of the votes.

Although we wanted to believe that we don't live in a society where the men find a size 0 to be the perfect body type, we do.

You won't believe what men had to say about their choice. For our exclusive video, click here for PAGE 3.

I am 6’ and a size 11/12. I think that the hardest time in a woman’s life concerning her body is realizing that after she has had children she will never be the same size 4 again. I agree that we all look too much at the media for healthy cues. It’s fake or they have 4 hours a day to work out. I could never afford plastic surgery. I get bummed out to the point of not going out. I know that I will not get hit on in a town full of plastics.

For the love of God, cupid is no respecter of man, woman or beast. What ever happened to chemistry, love, mutual understanding and the pursuit of happiness? 0 or a 10, what difference does the house that keep the spirit and the soul makes? When the love bug hits, all looks good. Needless to say that there is nothing wrong with the Barbie look. “Eye candy” has always been a welcomed sight to both genders. Hurrayyyy for the sizes 0 to 16.

what a lot of people seem to forget or do not realize that clothing sizes (at least womens’) are arbitrary numbers. it’s not as though women today are skinnier than they were 50 years ago. (they are bigger.) i’m roughly the same size i was 15 years ago but back then i wore a size 6. now i wear a size 0 or even double zero. lots of people like to say that marilyn monroe was a size 14 and that’s evidence that big women are more beautiful than skinny ones. although she did get curvier towards the end of her life (and still beautiful), at one point she could probably fit into a modern size 2. numbers in sizes have changed. big can be beautiful but women who fit into a zero are not children or have eating disorders necessary. we shouldn’t have to apologize or explain ourselves.

This line-up was done completely incorrect. None of the women was the actual “average” for the size she represented; #1 was much shorter and had much bigger breasts than what the AVERAGE size 0 would have. If they took a taller size 0 with smaller breasts I bet she wouldn’t look half as appealing to people like the current model. Besides that, what really counts is proportion, not size. Research has found that a certain chest/waist/hip ratio looks the most beautiful to people regardless the size. Best example: Marilyn Monroe, who was a size 14 yet the biggest sex symbol of her time.

I am a plus size woman and my boyfriend loves me the way I am.Of course I would like to be a size 12 but I don’t try and kill myself to get there.I am very sexy and confident in myself.Women need to be happy with themselves and thats the just of it.I have women on a regular bases thst are jealous that I rock a 44dd and no they are not saggy. And I have a nice butt and legs to go with it.I am the complete confident package and thats what turns my man on. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you love a 0 than thats fine, if you love a 16 like me then thats fine.If you love a 8-10 thats fine.Just love yourself first.

I ask, once again, why do men need a reason as to why they prefer a size 0 over a larger size? I’ve never met a man who liked smaller women because they felt threatened by larger women… I’ve met men who prefer smaller women because that is their idea of beauty. Just as men who prefer larger women simply see that as being their ideal beauty.

Don’t even fret over this ladies. It is an example of a statistically lazy survey, take a look at the results. No other model numbers show up, nothing after number 3. That means the people they asked only picked from the first 3 models, then never looked beyond those. If they wanted this to be real and get a real answer they would have shuffled the models pictures around to get a true answer.

I wonder what the result will be if men preferred body to mind and personality.

I totally agree with “mom to one”… I am a size 2 and I’m 45. I am equally tired of all the hype about oversize women being what men want. I don’t buy it for a second. It’s just mostly what they end up with, not what they really want. (Jane) I too grew up in the late 70’s and 80’s and a fat high school girl was a rare thing, and believe me, she wasn’t popular with the guys. Now, the high schools are FULL of, let’s face it, chubby and fat girls. When it’s the majority of what guys see, and they can’t get the attention of the few rare thin girls, then yeah they settle cuz they’ve got raging hormones!!! I didn’t buy the results of that other study for a second.

Try being 4’11” and a size “14” after 4 children. Bodies change with time and health conditions. You young girls who think you need breast enhancements for image; should just wait. Your breasts do grow with time. I myself went from 32”AA”- 40”DD” NATURALLY, my husband was quite happy with me then and still now……My problem is buying clothes that fit my height. Insteps in clothes are still made to long in petites!!!!!

I agree with what other people are saying about the models not being representative. I thought #2 was a smaller size than #1 before reading the captions. I think to do it correctly, people have to stop using the misguiding “sizes”, which aren’t standardized to begin with, and use BMI and hip-waist-chest ratio. Then results won’t be skewed by if the model was a 5ft size 10 or a 6ft size 10.

The problem with that lineup of women is that they weren’t equally “endowed.” The size zero woman was curvy and had big breasts. Guys tend to like that. The next one wasn’t nearly as curvy, and her breasts were smaller. Guys tend to automatically like that less, even when she is thin. You can’t completely judge the country on these 8 women alone. Set up a lot more than 8 women, with not only a range of clothing sizes, but a range of cup sizes and different body types (muscular versus not, the hourglass shape versus a more square shape, different heights also affect the sizing too - a 5’ tall size zero won’t look even remotely the same as a 5’8” size zero!, etc), and maybe there will be a little more credibility to this. As it stands, it’s really unreliable. I’m a 22-year-old woman, and I thought the size zero model looked the best as well. Does that make me shallow or too into the “thin” trend? I sure hope not… but based on this story alone, that’s what it means.

I am a size zero, I am 5.3, and my measurements are: 31, 22, 31. I eat 3 healthy meals a day, walk to work and back, and do 30 crunches and yoga every day plus walk for one hour every night. I am 35, and every body thinks I am 22-23 years old. I look younger and healthier than a lot of much younger women and get much more attention from men by FAR. I think the less fat, the less for the gravity to pull down and the more muscle, the more shapely and toned you are. Hands down healthy eating and physical activities pay handsomely :o) - bta
