Bernard, 30: Chose Model # 1: "She cares about her body. She clearly works out and if she doesn't work out, then she has a good doctor. I'm a breast man and her boobs look nurturing. She has good cleavage and she's not too skinny."

Arthur_39_split8.jpg

Arthur, 39: Chose Model # 1: "She is thinner and leaner than the rest. She has the same body type as my wife--and I like it."

Mike_42_split8.jpg

Mike, 42: Chose Model # 2: "She's my favorite because she's athletic and toned. I'm not a boob man. I like the athletic chick better."

Mike_25_split8.jpg

Mike, 25: Chose Model # 3: "She looks realistic, like a real woman. I like women with some curves. I like women to be realistic and healthy. Women don't need to be skinny with big boobs to be attractive."

Here's how some men on the street defended their choices:

We asked momlogic contributor and licensed marriage and family therapist Shannon Fox to weigh in on the state of American society and its love of women who are a size 0. See what she had to say...click here for PAGE 4.

Notice, the men said they liked women who were fit and had “cleavage”…the size 0 didn’t have enough “booty” as one guy said… I think looking “fit” and healthy is key to attractiveness rather than an actual number…some women had LOVELY curves, but their suits and posture didn’t really show it off…and if they had done a little bit of stomach crunches, they would have blown Size 0 out of the water. (Who, btw…cheated by squeezing up her boobs!)

If these are the pictures they used, the results don’t surprise me. #1 has the most flattering pose, and suit, by far. If you look at her closely, her arms and legs are really thin. If you put something over the screen and block out just her chest, she looks about 14. But the way she’s standing pushes out her chest, and gives the illusion that she’s curvier than she really is. #2 is just as skinny, but isn’t posed in the same way so she appears to have little or no chest, and nothing in the way of hips. #3 could not only have a more flattering suit and pose, but the way her make up is done makes her face look greasy. #4 is very cute, but again, her suit and pose work against her. From the waist up, #5 is my favorite. She’s pretty, she looks to be in good shape, she’s not to skinny. But whether it’s her or the way she’s standing, her lower body appears disproportionately large. Not by that much, but it makes something seem off with the picture. If she had a skirt on, I wouldn’t even have to _think_ about it, she’d be my first choice. Part of it is also facial expression. I know that guys are supposed to stereotypically ignore everything but the body, but it is noticed as part of the total picture. #1 looks a little shy, which a lot of people find attractive. #2-5 look happy, and friendly. #6 looks pissed off. I don’t care what her body was like, I wouldn’t go up and talk to her with that expression. #7 looks scared. #8’s smile looks a bit forced, like she’s being polite but she wishes you’d shut up and leave. Plus the shadows on her belly make it look like she has a lot of hair around her navel. I’m pretty sure you could get much different results with different pictures that were more evenly matched as far as the way the suit and their pose complemented their bodies, and how happy/friendly they look. I think they over-simplified it by thinking that nothing was important but the size of the women.

I agree. If they had dressed them all in the same thing (or at least something flattering), and used girls with the same sized breasts, the results would’ve been different.

Nice guys. So you want a “woman” with a 14 yr old face, mature breasts and a guys lower body shape? Straight line through the waist, hips and real skinny legs. You don’t want a woman, you want a child or another guy. Those men don’t look like they could afford to be too choosy. Not exactly GQ material themselves.

REALLY??!?!? there is no purpose of this survey the majority of people know that #1 is the body all women die for and allmost all men dream of. All of the women who wrote that thats not their ideal , and about happieness and all theat b.s are in seriose denial!!! So stop writing things about the other big women bieng presented unflattering bc the reason they look that way is bc they dont lay off the Mcd’s.

I am a size 00, bc i lost wt due to illness. I lost my breasts and cute butt. I am surprised at how many whistles i get at this size.Men like model-looking women bc they look fit and disciplined, not flabby and fixated on food. They like toned youthful bodies and women who look like food isnt their hobby. Being out of shape ages a person

There is a level on which this preference for size 0 is counter-intuitive. In biological terms, a woman with wider hips and more flesh is more likely to produce healthy off-spring, and in many more “primitive” societies, the preference is for bigger women. Men (and, alas, many women)have been brain-washed by various media to see the size 0 - largely un-attainable for most women, to be “ideal”. Movie stars of yore - Marilyn Monroe, Lana Turner, Elizabeth Taylor, would be considered “fat” by today’s standards. What a shame that womanly women are no longer appreciated.

I do not look down on anybody, regardless of their size, but my size really m atters to me. Although, I am 67 years old, I weigh only 105 lbs., 5’2” tall and very shapely. Love to exercise. Have a very healthy attitude regarding food. So far, no illnesses at all.

I say put clothes on them and then do the survey. Sure, no one wants to say that the 5, 6, 7 look good, but if you clothe them, I bet it’s a whole new ballgame.

Take out the faces give them the same pose and give them breasts to match their size. I am a size 20 and I have breasts to match, cup size F and men surprisingly still find me attractive so I think they need to focus the test on body type not faces and poses.

I think another thing not being said is the weight gain after prenancy, marriage etc. If they start out skinny then when their 30 somthing and had a couple kids etc., they’re not 400lbs. If you start with someone who has the discipline to look fit, metabolism to keep up with food and avoid the mcd’s too much, they’re probably keep the habits longer than the one wolfing down big mac’s at an early age.

Um, I’m confused. Where’s the “secret”? We already know men’s ideal women look, act and think like 20-year-olds. Specifically, with the kind of body types which have not had children, can eat bacon cheeseburgers everyday and not gain weight, and has been greatly favored by the boobie gods. This test, in and of itself, is a waste of time. Who wouldn’t choose an ideal body type if that is the only criterion for a choice? Next time, make the test realistic. Ask, would you choose girl #1, pictured above, who cannot cook, likes expensive designer jeans, talks to you like you’re a common cave-dweller, and expects to drive your car unless you absolutely need it. Or, would you choose girl #5. She is independent, but always fun to be around, and she absolutely adores you. She has you over for a meal once in a while, and really likes to sip on a beer, albeit a good brand, while the two of you watch Monday Night Football? In other words, she likes you for you.

#1 is by far the best on the list. She’s not the most beautiful girl in the world, but if you compare her to the other “models”, she is just way more attractive. However, I don’t believe #1 is a guys ideal body type — I bet if you but a 20 something, curvier girl with a pretty face on here, she would have snagged most of the votes.

Who cares what men like? Don’t American women suffer enough body image issues thanks to the media? Why isnt there a feature on what women like…no Kegs I’m sure. What a crcok of poo.

Of course everyone picked the first model. She is the only one covering her body, you don’t see the size 8 and 14 girls holding their arms in front of their stomachs. Also because of her pose she is pushing her breasts up and making them more noticable. I almost think that if she was flat-chested not nearly as many people would have picked her body type. Or if the size 6 girl had the same pose she would have been picked more.

Pic one is not a realistic example of a size one. Most woman size one are flat chested, where most woman size 10-12 are ample chested. Men do prefer curves. Put a chest on the size 10 and see how the survey turns.

I agree with zelig, why not have a fair comparison? There’s only one girl with a decent rack, only one girl with a decent pose, and only one girl who looks more then a little photoshopped. Certainly the contrast is better, the rest of the women look yellowish. Then there are the swimsuits, guess who’s the only one wearing one that suits her bodyframe? 2 is too flat chested for that top because it makes her look manly. 3 is smashing herself is hers. 4 has the worst bottom possible for her body, can you say muffin-top? 5 once again it’s the top, she has nice boobs, so why wear a sports bra basically? 6 Ick to that top, just ick. Also to that pose, and the lighting. 7 What were you thinking with those bottoms, and pushing out one boob like that? 8 not awful, but the pose could have been better. I’d love to have number five’s figure, it’s curvy without being fat, healthy looking, and in proportion.

So are we supposed to walk around with our arms pushing our breasts out at all times? This ‘survey’ doesnt’ work for me. Maybe you should have left #1 out and let the men decide from the rest of the group. To me, #1 looks too much like a magazine ad and naturally, the men that chose her were probably drawn to her for that reason. She looks like an ‘unattainable’ to me…most of the guys that chose her probably would never be able to date her. Just sayin’….
