Casey Never Wanted Caylee

Guest blogger Mom de Plume: Court documents show Casey Anthony wanted to give Caylee up for adoption but her mother wouldn't let her. Is grandma responsible for Caylee's disappearance?
It turns out, Casey Anthony never wanted to be a mom. At least according to court documents that say the 22-year-old mother of missing Florida toddler, Caylee Anthony, wanted to give the girl up for adoption before she was born. Casey's own mother, Cindy Anthony, insisted her daughter keep the child.

Now, 3-year-old Caylee has been missing since June in a tragic story that's yet to completely unravel.
Hindsight is 20/20--but if Casey's mother had supported her daughter's wish to put her daughter up for adoption, Caylee might be living happily with her adoptive parents.
It's likely it would've been easy to find Caylee a good home. Currently, there aren't enough babies to go around. In 1971 there were 90,000 U.S. adoptions of newborns. Because of the pill, abortion and acceptance of single moms, last year's numbers were only 22,000. A report from the The Virginia-Pilot says, "Birth mothers can now afford to be choosy." Perhaps Casey Anthony could have selected a family who would have provided a warm, loving home for Caylee, rather than Casey's idea of motherhood--which seems to involve a lot of partying.
Why would Cindy Anthony pressure her daughter to keep her baby when she herself has been referring to Casey as "a sociopath"? Maybe the lure of having a grandchild clouded Cindy's reasoning.
Whatever the reason, motherhood is not for everyone--and if a woman is ill-equipped to be a parent, shouldn't other alternatives be explored?
