He's not even gone and already, the family battle is on.
Paul Newman, 83, is reported to have recently completed his final round of chemotherapy and told his family he wants to die at home, surrounded by loved ones. "Paul didn't want to die in the hospital," a family friend said. "Joanne (Woodward) and his daughters are beside themselves with grief."
According to a close family friend, the star had spent the past few weeks getting his affairs in order.
However, this action has stirred tension among his children, who allegedly had mixed feelings about how Newman was dividing his assets. It was reported last month that he had been prepping their oldest child, Nell, to take over Newman's Own, the profits of which are donated to a charity.
But when he gave his Ferrari with his racing number, 82, to a long-time friend, the gift caused a family divide.
"The sudden move angered his children," said his friend, regarding the three daughters with wife Joanne Woodward and two daughters from his marriage to Jackie Witte. "It's especially hard for them to come to grips with what's going on," says the friend.
But with Newman's health sharply declining, is this really the time to be feuding over assets?

These kids are ungrateful! They should be happy they are in A will at all. My parents died poor. They gave us their love and we were happy to have that. Some kids are so shallow!!!!

Children of rich parents are so spoiled. They didn’t earn any of the money or buy any of his possessions so why do they feel entitled to all of it. Poor guy; all he wants to do is die at home with his family, but instead all he will get from them is grief. Selfish children.
