Man kills store clerk while holding kid: Police arrested Jermaine Canada for walking into a Phoenix 7-11 and fatally shooting a 62-year-old store clerk while holding a two-year-old boy in his arms. He also had another little boy, 6, walking behind him. Surveillance video showed that Canada was only inside the store for a short time before pulling out a handgun and firing. Police say there appeared to be no motive, and the two children were unharmed. He is being held on a two-million-dollar bail and will be charged with first-degree murder
Teens wed in Times Square: Josh Turner 19, and Nikki Bryant, 18, tied the knot on Saturday in the middle of Times Square, New York City, as part of a taping for MTV's Engaged & Underage, a reality show that follows teenagers during the final weeks of their wedding planning. Bryant and Turner met at their Baptist church in Georgia when they were 14 and have been together since. Turner had to propose twice because Bryant's parents were opposed to their daughter marrying at such a young age. "We actually have no idea what's going on," Turner told the Daily News yesterday, a day before he and his fiancée were to fly to New York.
McDonald's says goodbye to double cheeseburger?: The popular restaurant chain is considering permanently dropping the double cheeseburger from its menu because of the high cost of cheese, according to the Wall Street Journal. McDonald's already started selling the double-cheeseburger with one slice of cheese instead of two, naming it a "double hamburger with cheese," but some chains have dropped the item altogether.
