Phelps could shortly be placed in the same realm as soccer star David Beckham and golfer Tiger Woods.

Couple says cop who pulled them over killed dog: Michael Gonzalez and his girlfriend are demanding a policeman be fired after they were pulled over along a Texas road, as they were speeding to get to a hospital to save their dying dog. When Gonzalez tried to explain the situation to officer Paul Stephens, he responded, "It's a dog. It's OK. You can get another one. Relax." Stephens' superiors did not find him guilty of misconduct, but have ordered that he attend counseling.

Tropical Storm Fay heads for Florida Keys: Roughly 25,000 tourists and locals have evacuated the Key West region due to the powerful winds and rain of Tropical Storm Fay. However, despite the obvious decrease of customers, many bars and restaurants are remaining open for business. There is worry from local officials that these business are downplaying the seriousness of the storm, but the business owners feel confident they'll weather the storm.

Caylee's mom may be released: Three bail bondsmen from California have flown to Orlando, Florida to help Casey Anthony get out of jail. Casey's attorney called the men to help pay the $500,00 required for her release. Casey Anthony -- who has been jailed since July 16 on charges of child neglect, lying to authorities, and obstructing an investigation -- still must adhere to certain rules if she is released. According to bounty hunter Leonard Padilla: "I somewhat believe that, in her own mind, the mother has given up some truths in the statements she has made. It hasn't worked for 30 days, so let's try something different." If Casey is released, she must wear an electric monitoring device.
