David Duchovny enters rehab for sex addiction: The actor, 48, released this statement through his lawyer: "I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction. I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family." Duchovny, who is married to actress Téa Leoni, has two
children, daughter Madelaine West, 9, and son Kyd, 6.

Kids' earwax should stay in their ears: Don't bother removing their waxy stuff, according to national guidelines on earwax removal released today. "Earwax is not intrinsically evil stuff, and consequently does not have to be removed merely because it's present," said Peter Roland, an ear, nose and throat doctor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Doctors say earwax is a self-cleaning agent with protective, lubricating and antibacterial properties. When people poke around with cottons swabs, earwax builds up and blocks the ear canal. Instead experts recommend cleaning with sterile saline drops.

Alabama poses 'fat tax': State government employees in Alabama will now begin paying a tax for being overweight or obese. The Alabama state government set a deadline for workers to get in shape, or start paying the tax which would cost them an extra $25 per month for their health insurance. Currently state employees are not required to pay any type of health insurance premium.  Alabama would become the first state to charge people for being overweight once it all goes through.

Mother stands trial in microwave baby death: Ohio mom China Arnold, 28, intentionally put her month-old baby in a microwave oven and started it. However, defense attorney Jon Paul Rion told the jury there was evidence someone else was responsible, saying an 8-year-old boy in the house saw another boy walk into the kitchen and heard the microwave go on.  Arnold could face the death penalty if convicted of aggravated murder.
