Phelps Goes for Number Six!

Phelps is going for his sixth gold medal, Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson in the all-around final and the U.S. is one medal ahead of China.

Yesterday's Results:
- China is 3 for 3 in gymnastics with Yang Wei winning the male all-around competition (the U.S. did not place)
- Beach volleyballers Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor are 3-0 after being Norway in just 37 minutes
- Swimmer Jason Lezak wins individual gold after competing in the 100 meter freestyle.
- The U.S. men's soccer team was eliminated yesterday after losing to Nigeria
- U.S. did not make the medals platform in diving: Chris Coldwill and Jevon Tarantino finished fourth. China won gold
- U.S. softball women beat Australia 3-0
- American swimmers Allison Schmitt, Caroline Burckle, Natalie Coughlin and Katie Hoff won bronze in the 800 meter freestyle relay
Coming up Today:
- 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Men's Volleyball (U.S. vs Japan)
- 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Beach Volleyball
- 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. Phelps goes for gold number 6 (12th in his career). It could be Amanda Beard's final Olympic swim in the 200 meter breaststroke.
- 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson compete in women's gymnastics for all-around gold.
- 1:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. Women's Swimming
