An FAA spokesperson acknowledged yesterday that its "no emergency" statements at the time were wrong.

Last month, Sen. Barack Obama's campaign plane made an unscheduled landing in St. Louis due to a "maintenance problem." At the time, an FAA spokesperson said the pilot did not declare an emergency and the airline owner, Midwest Airlines, said safety was never an issue. But control tower tapes obtained by ABC News yesterday reveal the plane was in serious danger.
