Major memory slip: According to lilsugar, "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner thanked his three children in his Emmy acceptance speech. Sweet, right? Well, not so much. He called the first two kids by name and then referred to the third as "the other one." Ouch. He eventually recalled Kid number three's name, but that had to hurt. Talk about a brain freeze!

New ad features parents of lesbian daughter: The No On 8 coalition (an organization that fights for gay rights) launched a new ad campaign featuring the parents of a lesbian daughter. In it, they say they don't treat her any differently than they do their straight children, so why should the state? They ask the public to fight for marriage bans in their own state or find other ways to take action. Check out mombian for the scoop.

Tweens' tree house dismantled: Parentdish reports a Vancouver judge has ordered that a nine-year-old's pirate tree house be torn down because it violates city bylaws. Architect Andrew Dewberry had to explain to his sons, nine-year-old Jack and seven-year-old Sam, that the tree house would have to be destroyed. "We wanted to sleep in it over the summer one time," Jack said. "But we didn't get around to it and now we can't."
