What Your Dreams REALLY Mean

Monday, September 22, 2008

It all started with as dream. That's right, best-selling author Stephenie Meyer recently told Ellen DeGeneres that her "Twilight" series of vampire books began when she wrote a dream down on paper. Now, since this dream just happened to make Stephanie a gazillionaire, we couldn't help but wonder: Could there be more to our dreams as well? Is there a best seller hidden in our subconscious -- and what do all those crazy sex dreams really mean?

woman dreaming

To find out, momlogic turned to dream expert Judith Turner, a New Jersey-based psychic consultant and life coach who filled us in on what some of the most common mom dreams mean.

HAVING SEX WITH A STRANGER OR SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOUR HUSBAND:
This means that you are in search of satisfaction. You are in search of stimulation -- and not just the sexual kind.

LESBIAN SEX DREAM:
No, this doesn't necessarily mean that you're secretly a lesbian -- but it can mean that you are searching for more freedom. Open yourself up to relationships with women. This may mean that you are intimidated by another woman. Don't be so afraid of getting close.

LOSING A TOOTH:
This dream is about your security. It could be financial -- afraid of losing your home, not being able to pay your bills or it could be a fear of losing your parents. You have something right in the palm of your hand and you're afraid you might lose it.

YOU ARE LOST:
Maybe you're trying to find your way back home, to your loved ones or to your classroom. This is a dream about peace of mind -- you are in search of more security. There's something upsetting you. Maybe you don't think you're not spending enough time with your kids. You are at a crossroads.

SHOWING UP UNPREPARED FOR WORK OR SCHOOL, NOT DRESSED APPROPRIATELY, DIDN'T STUDY FOR YOUR TEST, NOT PREPARED FOR A BIG MEETING:
This is the epitome of the multi-tasking mom dream. You're concerned how others see you. You want to do it all, and do it all well -- the PTA Meetings, the bake sale, your job.

I had a dream of a bulldog riding a mini harley davidson in a batman costume, but I wasn’t concerned because I knew the dog, and it’s owner.

I have a recurring nightmare of a large man stealing my son from me in the dead of night while a woman holds me down on my bed. The only thing I can vividly recall is the large size of the man (he fills the doorway), gut-wrenching fear like I have never known, and knowing in my soul that if I get loose from that woman, both she and that man will pray to die before I’m done with them. That dream scares the hell out of me.

When I am sick with a high fever I dream of being on a type of moon walk play thing and a scary man is walking towards me, making the moon walk bounce me around but he never reaches me…. What is that suppose to mean?

I have a dream, and keep having it about a month before a friend or family member passes away. It really scares me sometimes, but its always a beautiful old house with hundreds of rooms, all beautifully decorated?? I also sometimes dream something bad happens to my daughter, she gets taken, or lost. You would swear it was so real with you awake!

haveyou ever had a dream that you woke got ready for work or school and left, and when you really woke up you were running late? or i had a dream about my uncle when he passed away. i was with my parents at the movie theater. they were inside looking at me outside from the window. a red car pulled up and an old man told me to get in. he told he was my uncle and to tell my aunt thst he was in a good place and everything is alright. i read i up on it and “red” stood for death and the “old man figure” stood for “the man on=f wisdom” who can come to you in your in dreams in that form to advise you of things. crazy dream. never had one since. but man im a strong believer of crossing over and knowing that there is a way to communicate with some passed on loved ones. i wish i could have another dream like that but i douby=t it will happen. he was a quiet man
