Facebook Is The New Porn

According to new research, kids aren't looking online for porn -- and it's all because of social networking sites.
Worried your teen is visiting smutty porn sites when you're not home? Well here's good news: Teen usage of online porn sites has dropped significantly, thanks to social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace.
According to Bill Tracer, author of "Click: What Millions of People are Doing Online and Why It Matters," searching for porn had dropped to about 10% of searches from 20% a decade ago, and the hottest Internet searches now are for social networking sites like Facebook.
Analyzing web searches doesn't just reflect what's happening online but it also gives a bigger picture of society and people's behavior. Tracer says it's not because interest in sex has dropped, but because teens just don't have time to indulge -- they're too busy socializing online.
What do you think? Is this a good thing?

Thank you for this unique article. I especially enjoyed reviewing it and ought to discuss it with everyone.

I used to work at a high school and the kids would try to get around the firewall to their Myspace and Facebook pages. Some of the ones I came across were terrible, half naked kids doing drugs and drinking. It’s too bad their parents weren’t wise to what they were doing but unfortunately, today’s generation is way more skilled at technology then their parents are are able to sneak around them.
